Subject: Electricity

Grade: 10, 11, 12 (Class Size around 14 Students or as space dictates)

Length of Course: Two Semesters

 

 CURRICULUM BENCHMARKS:

*         Understand and demonstrate the basic concept of DC Circuits.

*        Understand and demonstrate the basic concepts of AC Circuits.

 

COURSE DESCRIPTION:

A combined lecture and lab course designed to introduce the student

to the theory of electricity, Ohm’s Law, and basic circuits.

 

WHAT THE STUDENT IS EXPECTED TO DO:

1)         Do assigned work in textbook.

2)         Design and construct basic electrical circuits.

3)         Follow all safety rules and regulations.

4)         Clean lab and put tools in proper place at end of class period.

5)         Work well individually and as a member of a group.

6)         Design and construct basic household circuits.  

 

EVALUATION:

Students will be evaluated on daily work, written and hands-on tests and individual projects.
