Welcome to Mrs. Cook's Kindergarten
Hooray! The first week is behind us and we are
off and running!
September
Wow..we have a had a fun beginning to the year. I am really
enjoying your children. I can tell we are going to have a
great year. The first few weeks have been rules, rules, rules.
Expectation is that they are able to follow them school rules, even if
no one is watching. I will continue to stress them. I will use their
recess, snack, p.e., or their valued time to reteach the expected
behavior. Discussing the correct behavior with your child will
help me at school. Thanks!
upcoming themes
Our next theme is butterflies.We will watch
the miracle of the caterpillars turn into butterflies..IT is awesome!
The book the Very Hungry Caterpillar will
be read all week with the children be able to retell the story. We
have 3 caterpillars right now eating and eating...we'll have to wait and
see what happens.
Math
We have been working on shapes and colors.
We will be moving into positional words that we use daily.
Counting one to one will also be reviewed.

To all the parents who donated items to help out in the classsroom,
I especially love my new camera! I will work on posting pictures
from it. I want to share as much of your child's day as I can.

With buget cuts, something that I am always in need of is ink. We
do not have workbooks so I take pride in printing off papers to
have them look fun and exciting.
