Fix Sync Error

If you have the PowerSchool parent mobile / smartphone app on your smartphone and have had issues recently with sync error messages, we suggest that you follow the directions below to fix the issue. These steps have been provided to us by PowerSchool support. They say that following the steps should work for the vast majority of parents that are having the issue.

Step-By-Step Solution

  • Uninstall the app and then restart your phone.

  • Reinstall the app by downloading the app from the App Store/Google Play Store.

  • Once the app is installed open the app and it should land in the page which asks for the District Code.

  • Do not enter the District Code, rather click on the link “Where is my district code?” below the District Code.

  • On the page that comes up tap “Enter Server Address” and then enter this URL (https://hintonschool.powerschool.com/public/home.html) in the box on the next page

  • In the next step, you will need to enter your login credentials and this should load the data.

PowerSchool Preferences

Let Powerschool email you grades and attendance reports on a regular basis (Weekly, Monthly, Etc...). If you have the PowerSchool mobile app installed on your phone, let PowerSchool give you notifications.

Email Notifications Setup

On a browser such as Chrome, Safari, or Firefox, log into PowerSchool and then click on the Email Notification icon in the left panel. Decide what information you'd like to receive, any additional email addresses you want the information sent to, and how often to send!

Mobile App Notifications Setup

When you install the PowerSchool mobile app on your phone, you will be asked if push notifications should be allowed for the PowerSchool app. Hopefully, you selected Yes/OK for that setting. If you did not or are not sure, go into your phone's settings and find the PowerSchool app icon, tap on it, tap on Notifications, then turn them on.

A notification will "pop up" on your phone for any event for your student, such as being marked absent or tardy, turning in an assignment, receiving an assignment grade, and several others.

CLARITY SURVEY

Part of our 1to1 initiative (DLE) at Hinton School will be periodically collecting data around technology. This will provide the 1to1 committee, administration and school board an ongoing snapshot of all technology uses and impacts in our district. Each building has a different link. Please click the correct link for your situation. If you have students in multiple grade levels, please take the survey once for each grade level they are in. The survey will take approximately 5 minutes for parents and 10 minutes for students.
