Here is some information in regards to school closings and delays. Today, we were able to see why some people were not receiving alerts. Many of the numbers called or texted did not include the area code 712. Notifications to people who had only seven-digit numbers on their account failed. We want to make sure we get that cleaned up for future messages. Please go to the following link for directions on how you can update your alert information on your Power School parent account.

Typically, I want to make the call much earlier than what was called today. The general rule is to make the call by 6:00 am. Conditions did not allow that to happen today and I felt compelled to make the late call. I am sorry for the inconvenience it may have caused, but I felt it was for the best at the time.
