MS track meet on 4-14-22 at Ridge View has been cancelled.

Mrs. Cotter's 8th-graders are working on a joint persuasive essay with Mrs. Joanning's and Mrs. Ward's 1st-grade classes on "Which donut is the best?".





This past Wednesday, 10 teams from 6-12 grades participated in the Annual Book Bash. These students read up to 10 different assigned books this year and competed to show their knowledge against 6 other areas schools. Our own “Speedy Snails” won the spirit award for their costumes. Great job to all our readers!

HS G/B golf meet today 4-7-22 with HMS has been ppd to 4-14-22. On 4-14-22 girls will play a Tri with SC East/HMS and boys will dual HMS. NO JV and tee off at 4:00.

HS track meet 4-7-22 at Vermillion has been cancelled.

Congratulations to Janet Held who was recognized for over 25 years of service as an Athletic Administrative Assistant at the recent Iowa Athletic Directors Association convention. Janet does amazing things for our district and we are beyond fortunate to have her!

Emily Bach competed in the IHSMA State Solo and Ensemble Festival held at OABCIG High School on Saturday. She earned a I rating and a perfect score for her performance of the Kennan Trumpet Sonata. Emily has been selected, as the top performer in her center, to perform again at the Outstanding Performers Showcase in Ames on May 17. Way to go, Emily!



Location change for 4-4-22. HS golf will be played in Remsen (NOT MARCUS). Still 4:30 start.

Thank you to Deputy Struve and the Plymouth County Sheriff's Department for leading the 4th grade Talented and Gifted students through a crime scene investigation. With guidance from Deputy Struve the students were able to apply what they learned during the CSI unit to solve the case and recover the missing Tin Man.

The Hinton High School Band and Choir had a great trip to Orlando, Florida last week! In addition to visiting Disney World, the band participated in a workshop at the University of Central Florida and the choir participated in a Soundtrack Session with the Disney Performing Arts Program. Thank you to everyone that supported our students in their fundraising efforts to make this trip possible!





For all Hinton volleyball players entering grades 6-12, we will be having an all-skills camp this summer, June 27-30. It will be lead by Northwestern's head coach, Kyle Van Den Bosch. Here is the link to register:

Boys golf meet at Cherokee on March 31 has been postponed to April 22.

We had a send off for Jackson Kimbell on Thursday for him being selected as an Outstanding Performer in Prose at the Individual All-State Speech Contest. That qualifies him to perform at todays All-State Festival in Cedar Falls. 464 students receive this honor out of 9,000 who started at the district level. He is performing between 11:30 and 12:30 and we wish him the best. Congratulations Jackson and Coach Iverson. 👏 👏 👏 #goblackhawks

The Junior High student council had a 4th Quarter kickoff with a field trip to Drop Zone to help the students finish the year strong.
