
Successful fruit lab in the family and consumer science classes yesterday!





We had a great turnout at our monthly FFA meeting this morning! We discussed membership dues, apparel orders, IAT leadership conferences in November, and Sioux Empire Livestock Judging in January. Students should make sure to attend our next meeting where we discuss Sub District, District, and State Contests! Meetings are every third Wednesday of the month at 8am in the Ag Room!

Great job by the chemistry students separating salt from a mixture. We looked at some of the crystals through a microscope. They also separated inks using a simple chromatography technique.

We sure do love our farmers! Not only do they provided with the food, fiber, and fuel we use every day, some of them are our teacher, coaches, and family! At our Feed the Farmer event on Thursday, we had the opportunity to show our appreciation for them by handing out 100 sack lunches. A few familiar faces stopped by to grab lunch! Thank you for your dedication to agriculture!





The Hinton Student Lighthouse Team had its first meeting today, and their leadership was impressive with their ideas for more student leadership and how they can impact the Hinton legacy. We are in good hands. #WatchUsLEAD #WatchUsSOAR








A change in next week for Football- Monday Night JV vs Heelan home starts at 6- Jr. High game at Akron on Tuesday, will start at 4:30 will be one full 8th grade game and 2 quarters of 7th grade.

New doors were installed last weekend and the main entrance doors will be replaced next weekend. Those doors will finish up Phase 1 of our facility improvement plan using SAVE funds which are generated from the one cent sales tax




FCCLA state President, Addison Kovarna, used her leadership skills during two Fall Leadership Rallies held in Cedar Rapids on October 9th and in Fort Dodge on October 2nd. Over 1000 members from across the state attended and competed at these fall meetings. Addison lead opening and closing sessions and presented breakout sessions. Wednesday, the 4th graders went on a field trip to River's Bend Wildlife Area and Five Ridge Prairie in Westfield. They explored the Loess Hills studying landscapes, glaciation, flood plains, and water effects on the landscape. Students created their own glacier, studied rocks, and hiked 150 feet in the Loess Hills! They had a 'rockin' day with the Plymouth County Naturalist, Victoria!






The Hinton FFA Chapter will be handing out sack lunches at the Hinton CVA today. If you are a farmer in our community please stop by to grab a lunch. Please feel free to take as many lunches as you need. See you there!



Come support your Hinton volleyball team on Thursday when we take on Lemars Gehlen! It’s also Pink Out/Youth night! Any 3rd-8th graders can get in free wearing their pink camp shirt!
