In addition to doing LOTS of reading, teams showed their spirit by dressing as their team theme. Hinton's 'We The Trees' took home the competition's Spirit Award. Great Job Readers!

Hinton FFA members have arrived in Ames are the 96th Iowa FFA Leadership Conference is underway! Last night, the chapter had a delicious dinner at Hickory Park.
This morning, we began our day with a tour of the National Laboratory for Agriculture and the Environment. The NLAE does research on soil and water quality in Iowa. Researchers collect data from soil and water samples under current management practices and then the data is used to provide recommendations for implementing new practices. Students also experienced a brief tour of Iowa State University's campus and the agricultural buildings.
Students have been busy attending the career show, sessions, and competitions. Stay tuned for more!
