Iowa Secretary of Agriculture, Mike Naig, visited the 4th grade class to kick off March's Read Across Iowa. He was greeted by FFA members then read a book to the students about grape production. The students wrapped up the activity by sampling different varieties of grape juice and jelly. Sidney Riemschneider, from Ag in the Classroom, presented the lesson.

Holy Cannoli....look at what the Advanced Foods students made today! Homemade strawberry filled cannoli in lab.

Ms. Jecenta Sargisson is student teaching in the Agriculture Classroom this semester!
Ms. Sargisson taught the Plant Science students the basics of floral design and the students were able to create their own bud vase floral arrangements.






The Ag Power and Technology Class learned about the components which make up a builder's level. They then used the builder's levels and leveling rods to measure elevation at multiple points along a hillside. Finally, the students were able to utilize their elevation and distance measurements to evaluate the grade (slope).


Great way to start Thursday!! Morning pitching followed by fruit snacks and pop-tarts!!

Our Hinton High School Speech Team competed at District Contest last Saturday at Woodbury Central. Our whole team performed well and the following students qualified to advance to State Contest: Haley Copenhaver, Kennedy Hensley, Ava Townley, and Rachael McGaffey. Way to go Blackhawks!
