Feliz Dia de los Muertos! Hinton Spanish students celebrated the Mexican holiday Day of the Dead with calacas, ofrendas and of course lots of food!

The JH students enjoyed sharing their "Spooky Narrative Stories" in class today. A big THANK YOU to all of the parents who donated and made today a success!

Elementary Student Council hosted a food drive last week. Today, they helped load all of the bags and boxes to be delivered to a local food pantry. Thank you for the donations!

We will have a Fall Activities Pep Rally tomorrow, Monday, Oct. 31 at 9:45 am at the MS/HS school to celebrate all the great things happening at Hinton and send the volleyball team off to the State Tournament. #soar

High fives from the Blackhawk Cross Country Team started our Thursday out on a high note.

Hinton will not have school on Tuesday, November 1 as many students and staff will travel to support the Hinton Volleyball team at the state tournament in Coralville. #watchusSOAR

7th Grade theater students enjoyed learning about ensembles with the game "Toe-to-Toe".

We are so proud of our Hinton Blackhawk musicians who took on the challenge of preparing for and auditioning for the 2022 All State Music Festival--Dylan Hartman, Emily Bach, and Ian Hertenstein. Congratulations to Emily Bach for being selected for Trumpet 1 in the Iowa All State Band and Ian Hertenstein for being selected for Bass 1 in the Iowa All State Chorus. The IHSMA All State Festival Concert will take place on November 19 in Ames and will be broadcast on IPTV on Thanksgiving.

The Hinton 4-12 building is looking for a full-time paraprofessional. The School Board recently approved a $15/hour wage for our paraprofessionals starting November 1st.
