Meet your new Co-Head Coaches of the Hinton Blackhawks Boys Wrestling Team. We welcome Matt Pugh and Jordan Langley. Coach Pugh has been a co-head coach at Heelan since 2015 and Coach Langley joined him there in 2017. They know the value of education and have excelled in the business world and give back through their coaching. They have an impressive resume as wrestling coaches.
Coach Langley has this to say about coming to Hinton, “Coach Pugh and I are very excited for the opportunity to be part of the Hinton CSD. We look forward to providing a culture of excellence that will help grow all of our athletes into better people both on and off the mat.”

Mrs. Hertenstein's advanced foods class hosted the 6th grade today for a cultural fair complete with a variety of foods, dancing, and chopstick and origami lessons. High school students did a great job presenting, and the 6th graders were very adventurous in trying new things.

Production Animal Science took a field trip to Sargisson Farms last week. Julie and Korey Sargisson were wonderful hosts and treated the students to bacon ice cream when they arrived! The students learned about swine management, including disease treatment and prevention, nutrition, and genetics. The students were also able to see the extent to which technology is used in keeping pigs warm and healthy.
After the hog barn tour, the students were able to take a look inside of a livestock trailer. It was very cool to see the swing gates and ramps in action which are used to load pigs into multiple sections of the trailer. Thank you to the Sargisson's for having us!

I was so proud to see all of the amazingly accountable students at our soaring summit this morning! I was very gratified to be able to recognize Carson Divis for being a student who is among the most responsible students that I have ever had in 21 years of teaching! He always does what he needs to do without prompting or complaining. He is a leader who goes out of his way to help others as well! WAY TO GO!!!

Happy Pi Day from the AP Calculus class!
