Congratulations to Ayden Soroka for his acceptance into the National American Choral Directors Association SATB Honor Choir to be held in Cincinnati, OH from February 22-25, 2023 in conjunction with the National ACDA Conference. Ayden is one of many singers from across the United States that auditioned for and was selected for this prestigious event. His honor choir will be under the direction of Eugene Rogers, a two-time Michigan Emmy Award winner, a 2017 Sphinx Medal of Excellence recipient, and a 2015 GRAMMY® Award nominee and current director of choirs at University of Michigan.

Today FBLA hosted Iowa's US Senator Joni Ernst. She spoke with an excited group of Mr Sargent's business and FBLA students about her duties as a US Senator and governments roles and relationships with business and industry.

Several Hinton Blackhawk Musicians joined students from 33 schools yesterday at the Northwest Iowa High School Honor Choir at Dordt University in Sioux Center. They rehearsed all day under the direction of Ted Brimeyer, Director of Choral Activities at Urbandale High School and finished the day with a concert at B.J. Haan Auditorium. Students attending yesterday's event were sopranos Emily Bach and Isabella Kimbell, altos Jeweliana Evans and Tristan Groves, tenor Dylan Hartman and basses Ian Hertenstein and Ayden Soroka. We are proud of our SOARing musicians!
Mrs. Cotter's 7th-grade homeroom students enjoyed learning how to play "Golf" and other card games during homeroom celebrations on Thursday, January 12.
