4-6 Track and Field day was so much fun!
Our band program received an extremely generous grant on Wednesday afternoon! Ms. Weyhrich accepted $25,000 on behalf of the Blackhawk bands from Missouri River Historical Development. This grant money will go towards replacing aging and broken school instruments, including concert and jazz percussion, a tuba, and a bass clarinet. Come see and hear the difference our shiny new instruments will make at our concerts next fall!
Congratulations to Emily Attrill (Senior Soprano) , Dylan Hartman (Senior Tenor), and Ava Townley (Sophomore Soprano) on the high honor of being accepted into the 2023 Iowa All State Show Choir. The Iowa All State Show Choir is comprised of students who excel in show choir performance and they will showcase their dedication through a multi day event this summer. This year's event will be directed by Nancy Allen and choreographed by Kevin Chase. The All-State Show Choir performance will take place Monday, July 17 at 7 pm on the Hoekstra Family Stage, Douwstra Auditorium, Central College, Pella, IA. Congratulations to all!
The 4-6 Student Council finished off the year by joining the elementary building for lunch and recess. Everyone had a lot of fun!

Mr. Sargent's , 4th quarter, 8th Grade Business Exploratory class just completed their quarter long project. The students learned about multiple business topics as they progressed through the quarter long course. The Shoebox Window Display project allowed the students to apply what they had learned.
